Columns in Notion help to organize information according to their categories — no need to add a database or table for this to happen. You only have to drag and drop the text to where you see the blue guides.
But if you change your mind or lower the number of columns on a Notion page, how do you delete a column in Notion?

How to Delete a Column in Notion
Adding a column in Notion is a simple process that even newbie users of the tool can easily achieve. Just drag the 6-dot handle of a particular text block to where you want to place it with the help of the blue guides.
You can even add a vertical divider if you want the partition to be more visible between columns.
But if you want to delete a column or columns on the Notion page, there are two ways you can achieve this feat.
Note: The “Columns” feature is only available on Notion’s desktop and tablet apps. If you open a page with columns on Notion mobile, all the text on the right-hand column or columns automatically appears on the left-hand column.
Reverse the Actions Done in Adding a Column in Notion to Delete It
One way to delete the column is to reverse the actions you’ve done to add it.
1. Click and drag the 6-dot handle of the text block.
You’ll find this to the left of the text block once you hover your cursor over it.
2. Drop the text block to where you want to place it.
Use the blue guides that appear in placing the text block you dragged from the column. Then release your hold on the 6-dot handle.
You should now see the text block in its new place on the page, which is in the left-hand column. The right-hand column that was previously created disappears.
3. Repeat the 1st and 2nd steps to remove other text blocks from the column.
This step is only optional if you have added more than one text block to the column.
The right-hand column only disappears after you have dragged and dropped the last text block to the left-hand column.
Select the “Delete” Option to Delete Columns in Notion
This method of deleting a column in Notion is best used when you have an empty column.
Hover your cursor on the empty text block to make the 6-dot handle appear.
Once you see it, click it to make a dropdown menu appear.
Then select “Delete” on the dropdown menu, which is found between “Ask AI” and “Duplicate.”
The column should now disappear as the column format is removed.
Conclusion
Deleting columns in Notion is as easy as how you added them to your Notion page. You only have to undo the actions you’ve done to add them or click the 6-dot handle to select “Delete.” Easy peasy!
So with the simple steps laid out, you can declutter your Notion page and improve your productivity triplefold.
