Tables in Notion help to organize the data you added to a Notion page. You can also add views to the table for the Notion templates you’re making.
But if you noticed, you can’t seem to add new blocks, including text, under the tables. Is there a way to add text under a table in Notion?

How to Add Text Under a Table in Notion
Note: “Table” in this text refers to “databases.”
Tables (databases) in Notion can be opened in two ways. One way is to open that table as a full page. The second way is to open it as an inline table, meaning it is inserted into another page.
But if you want to maximize the space occupied by the database, you might consider adding text or other elements like a pie chart.
However, as of this writing, you can’t add text under a table (database) in Notion when it is opened or viewed as a full page.
But there is an alternative way for you to add text under a database with these steps:
1. Create a new blank page.
Select the “New Page” option on the left-side panel.
Then on the grayscale menu, click the “Empty Page” option.
A new blank page then opens.
2. Click and drag the table title from the left-side panel to the new page.
This will add the database as a regular link on the new page.
3. Select the 6-dot handle of the table’s link.
You’ll find this handle or button to the left of the table title when you hover the icon on it.
A dropdown menu then appears. This is the same dropdown menu you should open if you want to duplicate databases in Notion.
4. Click “Turn Into.”
This is the third option on the dropdown menu, between “Duplicate” and “Open in new tab.”
A submenu then opens to its right.
5. Select the “Text” option.
Technically, you should look for the “Inline” option, as this would convert the full-page database into an inline one.
But if you can’t find that option, “Text” is the next best option that is available. You should now see the inline view of the table on the page with the text version of the table’s title above it.
You can delete that extra text for a cleaner look.
6. Add text under the table.
Place the blinking cursor under the table and start typing. You now have added text under a table in Notion.
Conclusion
Adding text under a table in Notion helps maximize the space on the page where it is added. But you first have to convert that full-page table into an inline table for you to add text under it.
So, try out the 6 steps explained above so you can seamlessly add text under a table in Notion.
